Accepted vehicles
We accept caravans, campervans, motorhomes and trailer tents but not commercial vehicles.
If towing with an electric/hybrid car please inform us.
Fees apply if you wish to charge/top up from your caravan hook-up.
Facilities
We run a small friendly caravan site. We offer you a lawned and terraced site on 3 levels with private tarmac access road and ample space for 12 vans. Booking is essential particularly in peak season.
All our pitches have:
- electric hook-up (please ensure you have a 25m lead)
- superb views of Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills
- use of a garden toilet block with:
- 2 showers
- 3 toilets
- washing machine
- recycling facilities for all waste
- disposal point for toilet waste, all toilet additive must be Elsan Organic
Dogs
Dogs are welcome on the site on a lead, if your dog barks excessively please do not bring it on holiday.
Your stay at Downshay
Downshay Farm is ideally located for exploring Purbeck. The seaside town of Swanage is just 4 miles away, and Corfe Castle and Swanage are both accessible by steam train from the nearby Harman’s Cross station, only a short walk away. The World Heritage Coastal Path is also close by, or you can happily sit in front of your caravan and admire the views.

Minimum bookings
Our minimum booking is 3 nights during April, May, September and October (excluding bank holidays and school holidays).
Our minimum booking is 5 nights during June, July, August.
Important information
We cannot stress this enough – please ensure all toilet additive is Elsan Organic, we will check on your arrival.
All groundsheets must be breathable due to all grass pitches.
During your stay please:
- pay on arrival. All nights booked must be paid for. Sorry no refunds .
- arrive after 12 midday
- depart by 11am, unless by prior arrangement
- be aware our maximum stay is 28 days
- be aware we have no seasonal pitches or storage available
- note we are not suitable for large twin axle vans or motorhomes over 8m in length
- sorry, fire bowls may not be used on the caravan site, BBQs with legs only
On arrival please pull up inside the site entrance and find us at the farmhouse, or the farm office in the yard, we will happily show you to your pitch.
